Premature ejaculation, impotency, and performance anxiety in males, as well as vaginismus and dyspareunia in women, are the most frequent issues. While it is true that the majority of these sexual issues stem from long-term negative thought patterns, the first sensitizing events might include traumatic sexual encounters, long-held beliefs that generate shame and dread, resentment against the partner, or stress from other areas of life. For instance, 98% of premature ejaculation cases are psychological in origin. Most of the time clients experience detrimental performance anxiety which in turn leads to depression and loss of self-confidence, which again becomes a cause for performance anxiety.

It is critical to understand what has prompted a sexual dysfunction in order to successfully diagnose, analyse, and treat it. This trigger can be found deep inside the subconscious mind, which a person may not be aware of. The client’s thinking has the answer to both what causes sexual dysfunction and how to solve it.
